Hello. Im Vannah. This is just the teeniest portion of me, some of it relative to photography, some of it completely random. Commence reading my ridiculous rant now:

Random facts:

My name is actually Savannah but that sounds too fancy so I go by Vannah or V.

I am a vegetarian.
I only eat with the tiny fork and spoon.

Everything I own that I love has its own very special name, and usually a boy name:)

Age 12 was a great year, I met my soul mate! I met the guy I would marry 14 years later , I also was given my first SLR camera.
At age 16 my sports photos were published in a local newspaper, and then they hired me to shoot all local high school sports.

At 22 I shot my first wedding.

At age 28 I filed for my first big girl photography business license &  the rest is history.

My style:

I prefer a more natural approach to my work, what you might call a "lifestyle photographer" or a journalistic styled photographer. What is a lifestyle photographer you ask? Lifestyle photography is a style of portrait/people photography which aims to capture and document real-life events, situations, or milestones in an artistic manner and the art of the everyday.

     *Does this mean I wont pose you? No.

     *Does this mean I wont take family portraits? No.

     *Does this mean I don't do weddings? No.

What this does mean is I prefer candids to shots where I ask you to smile. I prefer a family sharing a morning together in their home as a family portrait session than a staged, clothing matched, park like setting family portrait session. I could go on, but I think you get it.

What I will do:

Wedding and engagement photos, boudoir, family photos, travel photography, documentary photography, business photography, real estate photography, pretty much any type of photography work I will take on, and Ill put my flair on it. What I will not do:

Selective coloring of photos, ever, its not my style. And, I wont airbrush your images until you look like a supermodel, its not real and not my style.

My experience:

I have over 20 years of experience, 10 in film, 12 in digital. In my film days I learned how to develop my own film, and prints, it was sheer glory! I have a few film projects up my sleeves, but they are in the works... annnndddd I use this BAD A** film style conversions software because I definitely prefer that look. I currently shoot the majority of my work with my digital cameras, I am a Lightroom master and produce consistent and quality work for my clients, and there ain't no shame in my digital game!

ME: 

I have pretended to do many things in life, none of them as real as the passion I feel for clicking that shutter and capturing a moment of greatness. Today's photography looks so much different than the time of film, being talk of pixels, Photoshop, and the buttons... how I love buttons. The digital age of photography is amazing, dynamic, and really really wonderful. You and me we can do some really amazing things, and not only can we make art but hopefully we will each gain a friend in the process.

I am an adventurer, dreamer, artist, storyteller, and photographer. When I am not taking photos I enjoy traveling, I particularly enjoy doing both at the same time.
