We live in a place that isn't very pretty to look at until sunset that is, then the sky lights up like its on fire and that fire dances across our normally brown mountains decorating them with light of rich reds, pinks, orange, and sometimes even purple. The desert, aside from said sunsets, is what I like to call 50 shades of brown, everything is some version of the color brown... EVERYTHING. This phenomenon, 50 shades of brown, is illustrated below:)
Regardless of color we seem to have many interesting spots in this desert... I had heard over the years of living in this brown wasteland there was a place where a fairly well known serial killer squatted before his ultimate capture, welp we had to go. We visited the Manson Caves just outside Shoshone, CA one afternoon on date night.
Question, what kind of weirdos go to a place named the Manson Caves on date night? We do. YES! #teamruck
It was creepy and interesting all in one, and the desert did some magic while the sun was prepping to set. There are definitely 50 shades of brown in these images, however, it turned out to be more colorful that I imagined (literally and figuratively).
Even Miss Kay enjoyed sniffing around this strange place.
A Mansion Outhouse? Yep. Pun intended.
Oh man, that light peeking around the corner!
Nasty was here, circa 2000. I wonder if 15 years later they she is still referred to as Nasty? I assume its a she, but that might be a bit presumptuous as a dude could totally go by the name Nasty.
My adventuring man-candy and our girl Miss Kay.
CREEPY!
CREEPY-TOWN!
I felt myself wondering if these cans are as old as the caves? They look a teeny bit older...
Miss Kay. ALERT. LOL!
She napped on the trail, yes, her fat girl attack happened and a nap ensued. We LOVE our girl, shes hilarious.
The moon before the sunset. Gorg night skies ahead.
