Closing one door to open another

This family had to say their goodbyes to this little fellow and his mommie tonight, it was a sad departure but one I was glad to have had my camera for. They are off to greener pastures, literally, and while we will all miss them we wish them nothing but the best.

"She is becoming a woman and her life is just beginning, there is nothing to be sad about for that, its amazing to be a part of it! She is embarking on this journey and while maybe you cant be there physically for her you can be there for her standing beside her and her choices. Be the big sister you already are, with granting her this room to become the big sister she is to become, the mother she is becoming, and the person she is growing into." Recent Holiday Work

Luckily for me I got to squeeze in some holiday photos of two really great families. One family, a dog loving newly married couple, the other, a blended family with a couple who is to be wed mid next year. I love photographing hands and feet, interesting viewpoints, and candid photos more than you will ever know.

Been. Too. Long.

Ive been neglecting my blog... eh! In the past few months I have taken on new and exciting work, both in photography and my day job (yes I have a day job too) which is conflicting with what I really want to do, write sweet nothings to all my readers (thanks mom!). Alas, I am back, and I have new material to lay your eyes on. Two of my favorite people and one of the best doggies in the world are about to grace your faces, they are wonderful and loving, and I hope these photos transpose that to you.

Flickr Postings

Hey all! Been working on being more socially aware lately and I was lead to Instagram to post photos to in addition to my business pages on Facebook.  Initially I thought it was a nice outlet to get my work viewed, then time passed and my feed of photos from my "friends" became less photography related and more personally related. It was at that time it became clear to me, the average Instagram user isn't a photographer yet merely a camera phone user and that's A-OK!  Switching gears I changed over to Flickr, which I found is more of what I am looking for! Flickr has photographic groups for individual topics, camera brands, even more specifically even camera models. So now I post weekly to my Flickr page with photos of non-people things, or of photos of people which have an unusual interest to me (photographically speaking of course). Weekly photos posted tonight, and Id love for some of you to view them! I am not sure of the limitations of the non-Flickr user, and I apologize if you can not view my album as an on-looker.

This set was especially heart warming to me considering this little lady, turned mama, is like a pseudo little sister to me. I have adopted her as mine, and she and her new baby boy have stolen my heart. That is all.

Two sites, two photo personas, one blog.

I like to consider myself a Dr. Jeckyl and Mrs. Hyde of photography, of course I don't go by those names but you can call me Performance Pixels and Vannah Rucker. Performance Pixels is for all you motor-head speed loving enthusiasts, a brand dedicated to capturing your fast moments in your favorite machine, PerformancePixels.net.   Vannah Rucker is the softer side of my work, a sub-brand of myself dedicated to taking photos of your favorite people in their favorite places or in their favorite moments in life, VannahRucker.com. Both sites are me, I am both photographers, however, one brand for both wasn't working (they were fighting) so I segregated my photo personalities!  I am a motorsport fanatic, and a photo fanatic.  Even though the personalities had to be separated I felt only one blog was necessary for the constantly fighting duo, vannahrucker.com/blog.
